Hyundai IONIQ 9 now available to order in Portugal

The Hyundai IONIQ 9, unveiled to the public for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in early January, can now be ordered in Portugal.

As the South Korean brand’s largest SUV, it measures more than five metres long (5.06 m), almost two metres wide (1.98 m), and has a 3.13 m wheelbase. Prices start from €62,500 + VAT.

The IONIQ 9 is offered on the Portuguese market with three rows of seats and room for up to seven occupants. Hyundai quotes 620 l (SAE) of boot space with every row in use, increasing to 1332 l when the third row is folded down.

IONIQ 9 offers up to 620 km of range

The SUV’s substantial dimensions are matched by its 110.3 kWh battery. Part of an 800 V architecture, it enables the brand to claim up to 620 km of range in the Long Range version. Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 24 minutes.

Several powertrain configurations will be available. The entry-level Long Range rear-wheel-drive model uses a single rear-mounted motor producing 160 kW (218 hp). Buyers wanting all-wheel drive can choose the Long Range version with an additional front motor rated at 70 kW (95 hp), for a combined output of 230 kW (313 hp).

For those seeking greater performance, Hyundai also offers the Performance version. It likewise features two electric motors, one on each axle, although both deliver a maximum of 160 kW (218 hp). Combined maximum output rises to 320 kW (435 hp). In this specification, the 0–100 km/h sprint takes only 4.9 seconds, while top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

What is the starting price?

The new Hyundai IONIQ 9 is already available for pre-order, starting at €62,500 + VAT (around €77,000) in Calligraphy specification. Until 12 March, companies and sole traders can purchase this new fully equipped SUV with a travel pack included.
