BYD Atto 2 Comfort arrives with 430 km of range

BYD introduced the Atto 2 in Portugal at the beginning of last year in two fully electric versions - Active and Boost - with 130 kW (177 hp), a 45.1 kWh battery and up to 312 km of range. It has now expanded the line-up with the Comfort version, which delivers more power and a longer range.

Its electric motor now produces 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm of torque, while battery capacity rises to 64.8 kWh. This increases range to up to 430 km on the combined WLTP cycle (600 km in urban driving). Interestingly, the Atto 2 Comfort retains the same 7.9 seconds for 0–100 km/h and 160 km/h top speed as the other versions.

Rapid charging has also been improved: DC charging capability has risen from 65 kW to 155 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 25 minutes. With AC charging at up to 11 kW, a full 0% to 100% charge takes around seven hours.

On the outside, the BYD Atto 2 Comfort is identified by its full-LED headlights, slimmer daytime running lights and a gloss trim piece connecting the two light clusters. At the rear, it features a roof-mounted spoiler and a light bar running across the entire width of the vehicle. This version also receives specific badges on the tailgate, including the brand logo in the centre.

Revised interior

Inside, the BYD Atto 2 Comfort introduces several changes, including newly designed seats, an additional rear-seat backrest, a gear selector mounted on the steering column and a glasses holder. Boot space has grown, too: it now offers 450 litres of capacity (previously 400 litres), increasing to 1370 litres (previously 1340 litres) when the rear seats are folded.

The 8.8-inch digital instrument panel and 12.8-inch central touchscreen (10.1-inch as standard) remain, along with an infotainment system compatible with over-the-air updates. The model also comes with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function as standard, effectively turning the SUV into a power bank that can supply electric bikes, tools or camping equipment with up to 3.3 kW of power.

BYD's most compact SUV also comes with an extensive list of safety equipment and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision warning, lane assist, blind-spot detection and automatic braking at junctions.
