Lamborghini Revuelto Opera Unica: a one-off painted masterpiece

The Lamborghini Revuelto needs little introduction: it succeeds the Aventador, is the Italian marque’s first plug-in hybrid and delivers a combined maximum output of more than 1000 hp.

That alone is enough to command attention. Yet Lamborghini saw scope to go further, resulting in the Lamborghini Revuelto Opera Unica, recently unveiled at Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 in the United States, where it is currently on display.

Alongside its formidable mechanical package - built around a prestigious V12 engine - and its aggressive styling, the Italian brand has added a one-off paint finish that required 435 hours of work. Yes, that is the equivalent of roughly 18 continuous days of painting. And that is before the 220 hours spent producing the bespoke interior are taken into account.

Developed by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile with support from its Ad Personam division, the Lamborghini Revuelto Opera Unica is a unique example worldwide, created to mark the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand’s 60th anniversary.

Unique details

The car’s bodywork combines purple (Viola Pasifae) and black (Nero Helene). It also features hand-painted stripes in cool and warm shades, adding greater dynamism to the overall look. The bonnet additionally carries Lamborghini’s 60th-anniversary logo.

Extensive changes have also been made inside, where the cabin features two-tone leather in purple (Viola Acutus) and black (Nero Ade), complemented by red, blue and yellow details that mirror the exterior treatment.

With this paintwork, Lamborghini aimed to evoke a canvas through an asymmetrical design that emphasises the Revuelto’s speed and aerodynamic qualities:

“We wanted to create something purely artistic using brushes and a combination of colours, as though the Revuelto were a canvas. That was what inspired us for this special livery.”

Unchanged hybrid system

Despite its almost unrecognisable exterior and distinctive livery, this Revuelto has received no mechanical modifications.

It therefore retains its plug-in hybrid system, comprising a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine and three electric motors, producing a combined maximum output of 1015 hp and combined peak torque of 1425 Nm.

These are striking figures, enabling the Revuelto to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in under 7 seconds, and exceed a top speed of 350 km/h.

Thanks to this exclusive paint finish, however, the Lamborghini Revuelto Opera Unica does not need to be moving to stand out.
