Porsche Macan Electric: the new electric Porsche generation

The new Porsche Macan Electric is the second model in Porsche’s electric line-up and the first to launch an entirely new generation.

It brings greater output, longer range and improved efficiency, alongside a driving experience that Porsche says remains faithful to the heritage of the marque established by Ferdinand Porsche in 1948.

The Porsche configurator now allows customers to tailor their own Porsche Macan Electric. Prices start at €87,000, with a wide selection of options available.

Cornering like a Porsche

The Porsche Macan Electric is the brand’s first vehicle built on the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture. This latest-generation platform incorporates active suspension, adaptive chassis control (PASM) and rear-wheel steering.

Its development was split between two environments: the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, where its dynamic abilities were honed, and public roads, on which it covered thousands of kilometres to perfect the suspension of a fully electric car required to be equally capable on a track day and a daily commute.

There is extensive choice in this area. Through the brand’s configurator, buyers can select wheel sizes, suspension types and even the sound produced by the electric motor.

Accelerating like a Porsche

Orders for the Porsche Macan Electric are already open, with the first examples due to reach the domestic market over the coming months.

“At this initial stage, only the Macan 4 Electric and Macan Turbo Electric versions will be available.”

Both models feature all-wheel drive, two electric motors and a battery pack with a 100 kWh capacity.

In the Macan 4 Electric, the 0–100 km/h sprint takes 5.2 seconds, helped by the electric motors’ 408 hp (300 kW) output in overboost mode. The Macan Turbo Electric completes the same acceleration run in 3.3 seconds.

Charging like a Porsche

At the heart of the PPE platform is an 800 V electrical architecture. This “future-proof” solution supports charging outputs of up to 270 kW, allowing the battery to be charged to 80% in 21 minutes.

Whichever version is selected, the Macan Electric battery pack has a 100 kWh capacity. It uses a dedicated module-cooling system to ensure the reliability of the battery modules and consistently deliver the same performance during sporty driving.

“It is the Porsche electric vehicle with the longest range ever: 784 km (WLTP city).”

75 years of Porsche history in one package

According to the manufacturer, the new Porsche Macan Electric represents the accumulated result of more than 75 years of automotive engineering and design development, spanning racing and series-production cars.

Sharper lines and the new lighting signature give the Macan Electric the “Porsche family look”. Its similarities to the Taycan and the unmistakable 911 are clear.

Inside, Porsche has followed the same approach: honouring its legacy while progressing without breaking with the past. The cabin includes a latest-generation infotainment system with over-the-air updates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus an app that lets users operate several Macan Electric functions remotely.

Personalisation is extensive both outside and in the cabin. Finding two Porsche Macan Electric models specified in precisely the same way is difficult. There are 13 body colours, 11 available wheel designs and 9 interior configurations.

There are also further features exclusive to the Porsche configurator. Have you considered what your ideal Porsche Macan Electric would look like?
