KGM Musso EV: electric pick-up arrives in Portugal from €45,900

Nearly a year after KGM arrived in Portugal, the brand has expanded its line-up with the Musso EV, its first fully electric pick-up. The model will enter the Portuguese market later this month, with prices starting at €45,900.

KGM Musso EV design and equipment

The Musso EV has a muscular exterior, combining Full LED lighting with substantial bumpers that emphasise the toughness expected of a pick-up. It also features roof rails and lighting for the load bed, which can carry up to 500 kg of payload. To improve ride comfort, KGM has fitted a multi-link rear suspension.

Inside (see gallery above), a panoramic digital display takes centre stage, pairing two 12.3-inch screens: one central display and one instrument cluster. Equipment differs according to the selected trim level, K3 or K5.

As standard, the entry-level K3 Musso EV includes dual-zone automatic climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless smartphone charging pad, two USB-C ports, rain and light sensors, keyless entry and start, and a V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) system.

The range-topping K5 specification adds a 3D exterior-surround and ground-view monitoring system, along with a heated steering wheel and heated seats.

For safety and driver assistance, the Musso EV comes with lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, among other systems.

Two power outputs, two driving ranges

KGM’s electric pick-up is available with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive:

• 4X2 version: a front-mounted 152 kW (207 hp) motor producing 339 Nm. It completes 0–100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 162 km/h.
• 4×4 version: two motors, one on each axle, delivering a combined 175 kW (237 hp) and 630 Nm. It reaches 0–100 km/h in 8.0 seconds and tops out at 177 km/h.

Both versions use an 80.6 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery. This provides up to 420 km of combined WLTP range in the front-wheel-drive model, while the four-wheel-drive version offers 379 km.

DC rapid charging is rated at up to 300 kW, enabling the battery to be charged to 80% in 36 minutes. The vehicle also has intelligent regenerative braking and four driving modes: Eco, Sport, Smart and Winter.

How much does it cost?

This model is covered by a seven-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first, while the battery is protected for 10 years or one million kilometres.
