BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit targets faster lap times

Some drivers chase greater power. BMW is instead pursuing sharper precision. The new M Performance Track Kit for the BMW M2 leaves the 480 hp output of its 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six untouched, but is designed to cut lap times through aerodynamic and chassis upgrades.

The package features an adjustable front splitter, working alongside a dedicated diffuser, wheel-arch deflectors and an additional air intake for the oil cooler.

At the rear, the standout item is the “swan-neck” wing, similar to those fitted to the customer-racing M4 GT4 and GT3. In Race mode, it moves back by 50 mm to maximise its aerodynamic effect; in Street mode, it remains within the car's dimensional limits. Adjustable suspension for the BMW M2

The suspension gains four-way adjustable dampers, covering high- and low-speed compression and rebound, together with adjustable top mounts and the option of lowering the body by up to 20 mm. According to BMW M, this is the first competition damping system that is legal for road use.

In Germany, the BMW M2 Track Kit costs €23,500 before tax and fitting - roughly the price of a Renault Clio… with options.
