Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ priced from €107,600

Following the presentation of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ in February, only its price remained to be announced. That wait has now ended. The new model, which becomes the sportiest version in the range, is available to order from dealerships or online, with prices starting at €107,600.

The arrival of the GLC 53 4MATIC+ is also symbolically important, signalling a change in direction. The previous GLC 63’s four-cylinder engine, which formed part of a plug-in hybrid system, has been replaced by a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six. It also abandons plug-in hybrid technology in favour of a less intensive 48 V mild-hybrid system.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ engine and performance

Under the bonnet is the same M 256 M engine used in the CLE 53, paired exclusively with the nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic gearbox. While it gains two cylinders, its 449 PS and 600 Nm of torque - rising to 640 Nm with overboost - are considerably lower than the 680 PS and 1020 Nm produced by the former GLC 63’s hybrid system. For now, there is no confirmation of whether the 63 will receive a direct successor.

As the new range-topper, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ also delivers the strongest performance figures: 0–100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds, while top speed is 250 km/h. This can be increased to 270 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package, priced at €2,350.

What is included as standard

The GLC 53 is far from sparsely equipped. Standard specification includes AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension, rear-axle steering, 19-inch alloy wheels and the MBUX multimedia system with AMG-specific displays. Synthetic-leather seats with contrasting red stitching round off the standard sporting cabin.

Buyers looking for more can choose additional options beyond the AMG Driver’s Package. The AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package (€2,600) adds an electronic limited-slip rear differential - enabling a drift mode for the first time in an AMG SUV - along with the RACE driving programme. An exhaust system with manually controllable flaps is available for €700.

When will it arrive?

As mentioned above, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ can already be ordered through dealerships or online, with the SUV version starting at €107,600. The Coupé begins at €109,000 - the previous GLC 63 “started” at €170,400.

Golden Finish Pack for launch orders

Customers ordering during the launch period can also select the exclusive Golden Finish Pack for €12,300. It pairs matt gold details with Obsidian Black paintwork or, alternatively, graphite grey magno. The package also includes 21-inch forged wheels, carbon interior trim and leather sports seats.
