The 2024 Jeep Avenger has now arrived in Portugal with a revised range and, most notably, a new powertrain.
Alongside the fully electric model and the “purely” petrol-powered version, the 2023 European Car of the Year now gains an electrified option: a mild-hybrid.
Jeep Avenger 2024 e-Hybrid powertrain
Named e-Hybrid, it pairs a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 48 V battery. This is the same HYBRID 48V system first introduced by Peugeot.
Combined output stands at 100 hp and 205 Nm, with power sent exclusively through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Jeep says the 2024 Avenger e-Hybrid produces up to 15% less CO₂ than a petrol-only model fitted with an automatic gearbox.
Existing petrol and electric options
The Avenger retains its familiar powertrains. The fully electric version develops 115 kW (156 hp) and offers up to 394 km of range. There is also the combustion-only 1.2 TG, using a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that delivers 100 hp through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Three powertrains and three trim levels
Each of the available powertrains is offered in three trim levels: Longitude, Altitude and Summit. The entry-level engine, the 1.2 TG 100 hp, is the exception, as it is available only in Longitude and Altitude trims.
The entry-level Longitude comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, a fully digital 7-inch instrument panel, a 10.25-inch central display, Cruise Control, autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition and parking sensors, among other features.
In fully electric Avenger form, it can additionally include automatic air conditioning, keyless start and a Mode 3 charging cable.
The Altitude trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument panel.
At the top of the range, Summit is identified by its 18-inch alloy wheels and includes proximity keyless engine start, a wireless charger, blind-spot assistance, a 180° rear camera and 360° parking sensors, among other equipment. The fully electric Avenger also includes Level 2 semi-autonomous driving.
Prices
Prices for the 2024 Jeep Avenger start at €24,500 for the 1.2 TG, while the new 1.2 e-Hybrid commands an additional €2,000.
